What are the top priorities for the near future in order to boost Qatar’s economy? First of all, let me highlight what is this comprehensive development vision for the State of Qatar, “Qatar National Vision 2030”. This vision was approved by Amiri decision No. 44 of 2008, considering that comprehensive development is the fundamental objective for the achievement of progress and prosperity for the citizens. It aims, as you mentioned, to transform Qatar into an advanced country capable of achieving sustainable development and also ensuring the continuation of a decent a high standard of living for its people, generation after generation. The targeted results of the vision is the core issue, because the means are clear as the Vision provides a general framework wi thin which nat ional strategies and implementation plans are established. The National Plan addresses five major challenges facing Qatar: modernization while preserving traditions; the needs of the current generation and whose of the future generations; targeted growth and uncontrolled expansion; development t rack , s i ze and qual i ty of targeted expatriate labor force; economic growth and social development and environmental management.
