71 Bahrain officially heads the Union of Arab Chambers, with Sameer Nass as Chairman The Arab-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce would like to warmly congratulate Sameer Nass as Chairman for his election as new President of the Union of Arab Chambers and the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Indeed, the Chairmanship of the Union of Arab Chambers has officially been passed from the United Arab Emirates to Bahrain, as the Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber Mr Sameer Nass will head the current term. In this regard, Mr Nass expressed pride in the confidence bestowed upon him by the Union of Arab Chambers, and revealed that during his tenure, enhancing trade between Arab countries and expanding business cooperation will be the main priority, noting the fundamental role of the private sector in Arab countries in driving economic development and achieving prosperity. The Union of Arab Chambers represent the private sector in Arab countries, that is to say, in 22 Arab countries. They also have 16 joint Chambers outside the Arab region, one of which is the Arab-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce. Nowadays, the private sector in Arab Countries represents more than 75 % of the GDP, thus representing a dominant part of the economy. What is more, the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry decided in its fifth extraordinary meeting held on October 2022 to install Dr. Abdulla Badr Mohammed AlSada as CEO of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce.
